🎹 The piano keyboard is back for Bald Eagle Days!
If you’ve walked the Old School Trail staircase beside the Cathlamet Pioneer Center, you may recognize one of its more playful details: the piano keys painted right onto the steps.
The keyboard was originally painted by local artist Dan Tchozewski, whose creativity has left its mark on the Cathlamet community. This summer, the stairs received some much-needed attention and a fresh coat of paint, bringing the keyboard back to life just in time for Bald Eagle Days!
The refresh started with a little unexpected generosity. After Scott and the crew from Evergreen Softwash finished cleaning the historic Pioneer Center, Scott went above and beyond and power washed the Old School Trail staircase at no additional charge. That thoughtful “little something extra” gave us a wonderfully clean canvas to work with.
We’ve since refreshed Dan’s original piano-key design, and we hope this is only the beginning. There may be a few more creative touches coming to the staircase in the future. 🎨🎶
For now, we’re simply happy to see those familiar keys looking bright again.
If you’re out enjoying Bald Eagle Days in Cathlamet, take a walk up the Old School Trail, stop for a photo, and check them out!
A special thank you to Dan Tchozewski for the original artwork and to Evergreen Softwash for helping give it a fresh start.
